WHAT THEATRICAL MILLINERY AND COSTUME PROP SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?

With twenty nine years experience as a professional milliner for theatre and costume prop maker I can bring to life many ideas - from period headwear to fantasy headdresses, special effects on costumes, textile art, sculptural headpieces and much more. I work remotely from my home studio in MOORTOWN, LEEDS, WEST YORKSHIRE but can travel for fittings and delivery. I work to a very high standard and always deliver my work on time. I love a challenge so welcome unusual projects as well as the more straightforward work.

Most projects start with an initial email or phone call to chat through your requirements. We can discuss deadlines and look through sketches/designs/inspiration. In terms of buying materials, sometimes the supervisor or designer will provide them or sometimes I will source them. I will make an initial shapes and either fit them in person or send through photos. I quite often work remotely, occasionally I will send a headpiece to be finished without me being present. Each project tends to be different so I just work to what is expected of me. After then I will work on any adjustments, finish and deliver before the deadline.

WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL PRODUCTION TIMELINE?

I can work to very quick deadlines (depending on my workload). Ideally I prefer to have plenty of time to finish projects but this is not always possible due to last minute requests so I try accommodate as much as possible instead of turning work down.
